Anyone know why they're enemies?

Carnage is one homicidal cookie. Since the moment he bonded with his own symbiote, he has sought to plunge the world into chaos. This ruthlessness against the innocent has put him at sharp odds against Venom. The two have consistently duked it out throughout the years. Venom has done everything from throwing Kasady into an electric generator to shooting him with a “super-sonic” gun and Carnage has done everything from attempting to kill Brock with a screwdriver to slamming Eddie’s face into a brick wall… fun times. Point is, these two heavy weights really, really, really don’t get along.

Probably the combination of resenting your parent, feeling responsible for your offspring trying to destroy everything and bonding with a complete nutter.

I blame deadpool though, in Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars, he bonded with venom before parker did. Which is what possibly made venom so crazy, which in turn probably made carnage crazy. Before bonding with kletus that is.

AFAIK the symbiodes are not evil by origin but their minds can be affected by the person they bond to

Not really. Venom wasn't an anti hero when carnage was first introduced.

I'm pretty sure carnage is kind of what turned venom into an anti hero. I remember in one story that carnage killed his+Eddie's therapist and I'm pretty sure Eddie loved her. Also there was a story where carnage was going to kill Spiderman and venom helped Spiderman because of the typical "I'm the one who gets to kill you" bs.

The anti hero stuff came later.
