Sad that he died but he was 95 so not really, because that's a pretty long life.

I think he gets too much credit for character creation. He's like Steve Jobs.

Also his cameos were always the worst part of Marvel movies so can't say I'm sad to see those will be gone.

Nah, the marvel movies themselves were the worst parts

Wouldn't say they ruined them. The comics are still amazing and some of the Disney movies have been enjoyable and some of the non-Disney ones have been fucking great. A lot of kids are getting into comics because of the shittastic Disney movies, and they'll probably provide inspirations for thousands of writers and regardless of whether you, myself, and everyone who likes decent movies dislikes them, they brought a dying medium into the mainstream and have cemented it.

Ya... he's exactly like a guy who never once created anything and sold an inferior product to idiots claiming to be hip.

Ant-Man
Captain Marvel
Daredevil
Dr.Strange
Fantastic Four
Hulk
Iron Man
Spider-Man
The fucking X-Men

To name a few of the more popular ones, but ya man, he's totally just like Jobs.....

Wow, what r u maybe what, 23? 25? You realize he was Stan Lee the original comic artist of all time he was the best in the business. You wouldnt have any of the movies today if it weren't for those comics. Don't disrespect the goat

If your dad collected any comic and heard u say that..

Talk about way underpaid.

Stan Lee's net worth is estimated to be $50 million as of 2018, and he will forever remain as the genius behind the Marvel franchise

I mean he is listed as co-creator of a lot of things, but I have my doubts as to how much work he actually did, especially considering his two main co-creators ended up leaving Marvel because of unspecified reasons/"unfair authorship credit".

E: I think that you know about Lee and not Ditko or Kirby kind of proves my point that Lee is basically Jobs.

:bonk:

We were having a discussion about Lee, were we not? I will assume next time when you talk about any movie that you have no clue what you're saying because you didn't mention every single person involved with it's creation. I hope you can at least comprehend how completely asinine that train of thought is...

Regardless of whether or not he was 100% behind the creation of every one of the absurd amount of characters he's been involved with, is completely fucking irrelevant. He still had a hand in TONS of characters and he was instrumental in the creation and mainstreaming of many of the early and most important characters that made the comic book world what it is today. Comparing a man like that to a guy who literally did nothing but market shitty versions of competitors products as the latest and greatest thing with a 200% markup, while having zero involvement with the actual creation portion, is easily the thickest thing I've ever seen you post.

Cuz no Marvel character is a shitty rip off of a DC character

Honestly I wouldn't be at all surprised if the only thing Lee ever did was the inane alliteration naming system.

By that logic it could easily be said that Lee created all the original characters while everyone else was mad about not getting credit for their characters they stole from DC. Pretty clear that this conversation is a direct result of an insane bias that you've developed without a single shred of factual information to back it up lol. No writer in Marvel history, disgruntled or otherwise, has claimed that Lee didn't create any characters. I'm sure he took credit for other peoples work, as all the people in charge do. That's happened forever, but to have this absolutely insane theory that he was some useless twit who never did anything is again, easily the thickest thing you've ever posted.

I mean when your company goes bankrupt 3 times after your major creators leave because of authorship issues and your remaining "big hitter" doesn't actually help you survive I'm pretty sure that nothing more needs to be said.
