Ive just watched the purge and i thought to myself how good the concept in theory is to make movies/series and how badly its been exploited so far. I was wondering in your eyes which movies or tv series had really good ideas but didnt live up to their potential. The 3 that comes up to my mind are : the purge, Alien (the ones after the 2nd movie), predator

The purge tv show is like 1000x better than any of the movies. They actually had interesting ideas. I've only watched the first 2-3 episodes but it was a lot more interesting than the generic bullshit the movies did.

Bright would be the first thing that pops into my head.

The first half hour was amazing. The world they were setting up had so much potential. But when the actual plot got going, it devolved into the typical unwatchable action bullshit with little to no substance. The wand they were fighting over was a lame plot device. It felt so generic.
