It will make a killing off of nostalgia alone.

I remember being a kid and watching every single Japanese Godzilla with my dad and brother. Obviously they weren't good movies but as a kid they were awesome just like every action movie in a kid's eyes.

It's just like how kids loved watching dbz even though it really isn't a great show and in return it made db super pretty popular with that age group just because of nostalgia.

Pretty sure the last one flopped and this will too.

Why the fuck are humans releasing monsters, let alone 3 of them, willingly ?

Last one brought in over half a billion lol. This has a zero percent chance of flopping. Even if its bad it will still net a huge profit.

I'm assuming it is because King Ghidorah is going to destroy the entire world and the humans can't stop it. Back in the old movies it was basically the strongest monster in the Godzilla universe and it took all three of the monsters to win. This is basically a remake since they are using the same exact three monsters.

Haven’t seen the old Godzilla movies yet... need to watch those
Otherwise I feel like it’d be watching a Star Wars movie without seeing the old ones and not knowing anything about the characters or story line

Basically the only characters you'd need to know who would be in the old movies are the monsters. The only movie that is Canon to this one is the 2014 movie. Technically the newest King Kong is part of the same universe but it isn't really necessary to understand the plot. After this one they plan on making a Godzilla vs King Kong movie based in their 'Monsterverse'.

The old movies are super cheesy and hard to watch if you were never into them growing up. Godzilla movies are far from cinematic masterpieces. They are more of fun action filled movies that lack a good plot and basically every other element of a good film lol. They aren't for everyone and won't win any awards. I enjoy them just like I enjoy MCU films.

Only one worth watching is from 1998 starring Matthew Broderick

Lolwat

How can you hate the 2014 version and like that one lol?

The '98 version won multiple razzie awards iirc. I'm a Godzilla fan boy and even I don't like it.

They just need to realize that for monster movies they have to focus on monsters and not try to incorporate an in depth human storyline

No matter how much of the movie is committed to a dumbass human story, people are still only there to see giant monsters doing cool shit
