hope no trash episodes like some from the last season

I haven't finished all of the old seasons, can I just skip to the new ones without a problem?

I would recommend watching the old seasons if you can, but it really wouldn't hurt you too much. They bounce around from the main story line to completely separate episodes pretty frequently, and who knows what they're going to do this season.

Looks better than last seasons, really hope they don't ruin this show.
I grew up watching X Files and was pretty stoked when they said they were bringing it back, last season sucked though.

You most definitely need to know the main plot. You can skip "monster of the week" episodes and focus on ~30 total eps that deal with main arc.

You have to watch all of them.

I love the original series run.

New season had like 2 solid episodes and some pretty bad ones. Hopefully this one is better.
