Personally, I've not been a big fan of scary movies as they've seemed predictable or just had rather stupid endings/plots.
I'm not sure of the last/previous scary movie I've watched, but I know it's been years.

I went on a date to watch IT, and neither of us was scared/really impressed by the movie. I had no expectations going into the movie, I knew nothing of the plot/backstory at all. I only knew it was supposed to be a scary movie.
Don't get me wrong, I thought the acting was good, and the entire (part 1 of 2) was good, but it wasn't a scary movie.

1. I'm looking for some suggestions on some Horror/Scary movies to watch.
2. I'm looking for ones that are good in the sense of they are scary, or good in the sense of it's a good movie that also has scary moments.

I've got access to Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon for watching movies, but you can still suggestion movies that aren't on them.

I'm going to start a Blog of the movies I have watched, as well as my short representations of them.

The Fourth Kind
The Conjuring

I personally believe these to be good movies with scary scenes in them. As a horror fan though, in my personal opinion, I believe that horror based on "possible" realism to be the scariest rather than fictional horror. Stuff like demons/aliens/mental breakdowns to insanity.

If i remember some more of the better ones in the past 10 years I will post.

I think the two biggest problems with horror is reliance on jump scares and poor acting.
The real honest horror genre is called thriller.

I liked the movie LIFE simply because the "monster" was super freaky. Having to deal/fight with that thing would be terrifying. Lots of star actors in it and I think only 1 jump scare in the whole movie.
Didn't get good reviews unfortunately but I still liked it.

If you want one with good reviews try The Fly

Can also try 10 Cloverfield Lane
Has horror aspects in it

Watched "It comes at night" last night, pretty disappointing, but all horror movies are.

I can't recall a horror movie that's ever scared me, well, that's not entirely true since I can think of a handful that scared me when I was 11 or younger, but none have scared me since being a teenager and jump scares in games/movies rarely startle me or make me actually jump.
