Does Netflix allow movie creators to completely bypass the official Motion Picture Association of America film rating system?

As streaming becomes a more prominent force in the industry, does it seem viable that we could see a day when the MPAA rating system loses enough relevance that it is dissolved?

im not sure, but all of the netflix originals that i've seen are appropriately rated for today's society (IMO).

yeah santa clarita diet should be something available to play on TV. it had no nudity iirc just some cursing and nothing too gorey/nasty.
but there are a lot of other shows with nudity in it that i really doubt us would ever allow in cable.

Thread is about like pg/pg13 etc not the thumbs up thing.

They changed it cuz Amy Shumer got butthurt over shitty reviews on her stuff

idc what the thread was about was just stating my opinion which many will follow because it flat out blows....I can't even see if a movie is shit anymore or not based on the new system
