I wonder if they are using same ring in the Hobbit movies as the LOTR movies. I tryied looking on internet but found nothing.

15 were made, a larger one for sauron scenes, a bigger one as a promotional advertisement, 2 for the hobbit scenes, one is on display in their shop in new zealand. Andy and elijah each got one of the rings made. There isn't anything said about the other ones. The original artisan (jens hensen) died before he got to see them in film.

One to each man, Andy and Elijah. The others faded from history. Their crafter died upon completion of his work before the world fell to ruin.

I'm pretty sure on the commentary track for lotr it says the first ring they used was one of the guys wedding band until the real pros were ready.

So im not the only one who spent all week watching LOTR and the hobbit?
