So I was watching the new documentary on Jonbenèt and afterwards decided to do a bit more digging and found there was a dr Phil episode with her brother recently (2 or 3 actually).
After watching the first I thought there was very little content in the show, and decided to take notes in the second episode.
I figured out that if you don't count the commercials, or footage not part of the actual show, there is still ~530 seconds of ads in the episode. Out of 42:30 minutes that is about 21% of the run time. I didn't even include repeated scenes or repeated information in this which would bump that number up a lot.
If you add in the full run time and commercial ads you get around 1580 seconds of ads/commercials out of 3600(one hour). That's nearly 44% of the view time.
I mean obviously this is only one episode, but considering the show is in its 15th season I'm guessing the format is pretty set in stone (give or take a 5%, or 80 seconds, error).
Like what the fuck how do people watch this show on a regular basis? It would drive me insane having so little content in an hour long show (assuming you believe his shit show can be called content in the first place).
