Kinda pissed his show got canceled for basically no reason, right before an election cycle, and of such short notice ~4 days.
Larry was a funny guy, great support cast and writers.

Does anyone know where you can get historical viewing data for TV shows?
--> I'm trying to look up colberts #'s for the duration of his show and compare them to wilmores and see if CC/Viacom is telling the truth

Too bad colbert sold out to corporate CBS and does brainless plugs for shows, movies, consumer hip-hop music no one wants, what a waste of talent.
I saw some numbers linked to an article they released but it was comparing him to broadcast also which is unfair. Instead of releasing ALL the info they seemed to cherry pick some lame recent (summer) #'s rather then historical viewing numbers, growth, maybe total revenue and expenses and actually make the case that they were forced* to cancel.

Wilmore actually had decent viewer numbers for his timeslot if you compare them to cable competitors, broadcast is "free" tv so they are a different league (CBS ABC, ect heavy corporate shows that blab on about so and so's new product, song, or movie produced by a sister company of that network). Cable relies on subscriptions and ad revenue, where broadcast is just all ads (look at the ownership of these companies lol)

Show was awesome, there's been a lot of dark news yet they throw jokes in so its not too much negativity at once and it would make it easier to listen to important topics. The show would throw a lot of information too much more then you could get from watching looped brainwashing images on CNN with that goofy looking blitzer guy yelling at you for an hour about speculative news.

Been reading a up on this more, some reasons his show never really got a break

1) Colbert left, big shoes to fill after he had 9 years 2 months to develop his show where he had it mastered near the end
2) John stewart his lead left, trevor is ok but has not got the show down yet it took Larry about 3 months before his show started getting good
3) They underwent a management change at CC alterman got control, hes new at running things and might be blind to talent, john stewart saw something in larry I trust john's oppinion as a comic over an exec's, john gave them colbert who started off slow also and had john as a lead his entire 9 + years.
4) Summer everyones out, vacations, especially younger people who might be working, im not sure how they count DVR viewers
5) Olympics, August 5, 2016 – August 21, 2016, his last show was aug 18th, they gave him a 4 days notice... it seems like they wanted the olympics to distract people from his show getting canceled
6) Show was only on for 1 year 8 months (Jan 2015-Aug 2016) I really only consider it 1.5 years since the first few months is building the show getting to know ur audience
7) They were off for 1 week in august and 2 weeks in july, the summer is typically slower
8) The cut his show right before the election where most late night shows have a bump and have a lot of stuff to cover they could have at least let him close the year out
9) They bench mark his ratings vs latenight broadcast which is FREE, its on everywhere even if no one is watching they rely 100% on corporate ads vs cable which is split on subscriber networks + ads giving them more free speach if you look at broadcast comedy they only do 3-5 minute segments of jokes, most of it is very little content 90% of the show is corporate plugs for other shows, movies, and music all of which is terrible and is produced by a sister company they own or a big time ad purchaser for their network.

If anyone else has ideas or opinions please post them I want to get good data and write something to the exec's there maybe someone else will pick up the show if they realize it was canceled premature, like so many other good shows.

For real though, I watched a few eps recently and he seemed like a dickhead in the first couple but eventually you get the feel it's just him and I kinda got over it.
His staff seem pretty top notch though.

Well from what I have been able to find Colbert got around 1.1m-1.3m viewer numbers which is actually pretty low, but I guess good for that type of show. Most shows try to go for double or more than that though if they want to stay on air. If it is true that this guy dropped 55℅ compared to Colbert then cancellation is pretty justified.

that show sucked so fucking bad back when i had cable i couldn't shut my TV off fast enough after jon stewart....the colbert report i used to watch at least half of it....That dude is literally not even close to funny and he's a racist
