I know it's a shit movie, but I was bored as fuck so I watched it on netflix recently. I'm hoping that someone here is a fan of this series and knows it well enough that they can answer a question for me:

Initially, the explanation for the whole hybrid creation plan was that it revolved around injecting the guy with 2 purebloods. That's why they made a big deal about getting Amelia's blood. But later they just created the hybrid by having Kate Beckinsale bite the guy. She's not pureblood, right?

Wasn't that they made a big deal about getting her blood or needing a pure blood. It was simply killing two birds with one stone. Getting rid of a council member and getting vampire blood for the experiment. While she was drained for the experiment, it wasn't a crucial thing. Selene wasn't a pureblood.

Maybe the fourth wasn't on par with the rest of them though, but still enjoyed it, my fav remains the third.

Also op she drank that original guys blood and became more than a vampire hence why she changed that other guy. Unless I'm mistaken

Kinda reminded me of the T-Virus experiments when certain individuals mutated (maybe I'm wrong there)

Pureblood would yield a stronger hybrid. Anyone could have made him a hybrid, it was just a matter of making him the strongest one possible. You're correct, shit movies, and yet I still enjoyed the first 3 lol.
