Why didnt the dementors surrounding the castle not protect the students and faculty?


How the fck were there so many people in that realm who side with darkness, vs the very few who side with good?

dementors are their own species and werent protectors but just beings who suck the life out of you

they were once protecting azkaban but escaped since

most of the wiz people were petrified of voldemort (even speaking his name was taboo)

and maybe darkness enthusiast were partially his groupies

many reasons to go to darkside and some probably fert superior than normal people so they wanted power etc

last fights were in hogwarts too so only few dared to come

Their only motive was to devour someone's soul via their "kiss". I'm sure they realized siding with Voldemort would grant them more victims opposed to having guard duty on the "good" side

those bastards

can they be killed or just scared away?

I'm not sure, the books/JK Rowling never really gave any insight into that :/

Lets say this happens here. The Government falls and a super-powerful and seemingly immortal entity pops up and is killing and torturing everyone who opposes him. Do you stand your ground and fight or dip the fuck out?

Dementors are not good creatures and will always serve an evil power when available.



They're already dead. You can only make them fuck off for a bit.

yeah the dementors went over to the dark side, why would they be guarding the good guys?

and you talking about books or films, can't remember them saying that most people went to the bad side, probably just not many good guys left in one place or added for increased suspense in the films
