I'm guessing I'm the only one who cares but the first 4k blu rays release tomorrow (march 1st)

Is anyone else aboard the 4k train?

have 4k tv . don't have a proper blu ray player.

Will wait until proper bluray players are under $100 for 4k.

Sounds like you enjoy wasting money on things you do not need.

it's not really wasting money......

4k will eventually become the standard like VHS to DVD and DVD to Bluray.

Not to mention, I can't find any movies on amazon with 4k capabilities that are poorly priced.....

Spends an absurd amount of money on a 4k tv -> wont buy the video player to actually use said tv.

Living up to the name in full force.

You do realize that 4k tvs are pretty inexpensive......

I really don't understand how people don't realize this by now. 4k is coming to be nearly the norm for tvs in retail.

cheapest start around $350, mine was $1200. $1200 for a tv is fine for MY budget.

Purchasing a 4k tv was the more rational thing to do......why would i buy ANOTHER 1080p when 4k is available. It doesn't matter if it's not being utilized yet, it will in the future......future proofing.

Once 4k oled tvs come down under $2000 (lg sells 1080p oled for under $2000 right now), that will be my next upgrade.

I swung by best buy last night and the 4k blu ray players were sold out, with a price tag of $400

Online stores all sold out as well including amazon.

I'm fine with a DVD, I care more about the movie itself then fancy colours. The only Blurays I own are mostly drawn animation, especially Ghibli movies, and a few Sci-Fi flicks. DVDs look pretty good in a player with a proper upscaling feature.
If I can get a DVD on a flea market for 1€ I don't bother buying something else.
