Just saw "Ідзі і глядзі," or "Come and See" last night. What an emotionally draining movie.

Other good ones that are pretty bleak/hopeless:

Melancholia (2011)
Happiness (1998)
Martyrs (2008)
Chinatown (1974)
Million Dollar Baby (2004)
Eyes Wide Shut (1999)

Do you watch German movies in their original from with subtitles or with dubs?

Always wondered if foreign consumers of our movies found our language awkward and unrelating.

Don't know if they fit but:

Requiem for a Dream
The Wrestler
Shindlers List
Grave of the Fireflys
Eraserhead
Funny Games (Both original and remake, since it's an 1:1 copy)
Irreversible (Probably everything Gaspar Noe made)
120 Days of Sodom
Detachement
Precious
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
Leaving Las Vegas

I'll always go with the original audiotrack if possible, I watch alot of films in non english language so reading subtitles doesn't bother me at all.

To be honest I find German a bit harsh sounding at times but it doesn't interfer with the overall experience or anything so I'll never consider a dub.

Isn't Love just a softcore porn? Haven't seen it yet.

Leaving Las Vegas wasn't uplifting, only remember Nicolas Cage's great performance.

Detachment is pretty good, I like Adrien Brody, there is only one scene that's realy out of place and almost cringeworthy ^^ but I would recommend it, Precious is skippable though.
