I just started the new SyFy show "The Expanse" -- Really fucking good first impression. None of that having to watch 1-2 seasons before the shows starts entertaining, it hooks you from the get go. First four episodes are free to watch on Syfy website right now.

Earth has begun colonizing the solar System. Several human factions have formed. Earth, Mars (Broke away from Earth and appears to be the big military power), "Belters" (Basically slave labor mining resources in the Asteroid belt), and a terrorist organization. Unsurprisingly the factions don't get along to well, and we don't really know where it's going to go with the main story yet -- War between the factions, them having to unite to fight some other threat, or something else.

Some mystery involving a missing girl which is seemingly going to tie it all together at some point as well.
