This is kinda what I was thinking about when I made the poll.
Has the momentum of the wave of success carried Frozen to a point where it is overhyped? Or does the obscene popularity bring on undeserved hate, resulting in it being underhyped? Or can both the previous things be true at the same time, causing the film to be simultaneously overhyped and underhyped?
While reading about it, I found it somewhat curious and perhaps enlightening to think about how to sift through this cloud and find an objective evaluation of the film.
People tend to hate things that are popular only because they are popular when the see it or hear it everywhere.
Can it be annoying? Yes, sometimes, but popularity does not raise or lower the quality of the initial product.
I love Disney. I also have worked at toys r us (second job for funsies) for ten years, so I have good experience talking with parents and seeing what kids like and dislike. Many parents loved froze. And the kids were obsessed with it. After a while, adults were sick of it because the music was everywhere.
The movie isn't the best, but it's far from garbage.
Planes, now that's garbage. I also hate the entire cars series/universe, but I understand that people generally enjoyed the first one.
I recently saw inside out when it was in theaters. It was excellent, and really creative.
