Another remake...

Hollywood really is out of ideas, it seems.

The only scene from the old movie that actually can be polished a bit is the last where he transforms. Rest, im affraid you can't really portrait Pennywise better.

this really isn't true, the problem lies with the studios they are all hoping to create the next star wars phenomena where a couple of movies or a trilogy becomes so successfull that you can sell merch and make spinoffs / sequels for 40 years.

That's the real issue and it's been going on since the 70's, I love the original SW trilogy but it killed mainstream cinema.

In general, I don't have a problem with remakes.

It allows the ability to reimagine a movie with modern technology.

It allows younger viewers to have an interest in seeing it where they may not have an interest in seeing the original or didn't even know about it. After seeing a remake, it could spark a desire to see the original.

Hollywood is a business and I understand that.

With over 100 years of movies, I do believe it gets more challenging creating original ideas.

Disclaimer:

I am not saying all remakes are successful, but if it looks okay, I will give it a fair chance and not automatically bash it because it's different than the original.

In general I don't have a problem with remakes either, my problem lies with the fact that 99% of them are lazy trite shit that flat out insults the original work

Some remakes make sense, some remakes even need to be done.

This though...
