Sundance reviews are out...and they aren't good. I was hoping this movie was going to be a success, I am a intrigued by the plot...but how often does an interesting plot pan into a great movie, in Hollywood.

Thoughts about this prior to the premiere?

This has been in development hell for a while it seems, along with the seventh son. I saw the trailers like in 2011 or something and nothing came from it. They're billing it as a space opera, that narrative doesn't work for movies and requires a tv series to start the base, so I'll see it for that alone but I'm not expecting anything stellar. Also, it was pretty dumb for them to show the movie at a sundance movie festival given the composition of the audience. You should see some of the reviews for movies shown there, hipsters and armchair critics as far as the eye can see. So I wouldn't put much stock into anything they say in regards to science fiction. The reviews were polarizing to both extremes. So who knows.
