Actually, sony was forced to pull out because the other big companies pulled out. Plus there's the whole leaked employee information, itineraries, et cetera and the threats of replicating 9/11 happening. So it's a bit more than "skurred of nk" happening here.

There may be a silver lining though. It will set a very dangerous precedent that studios will cave to this type of behavior, however if financial backers don't have faith in sony anymore, they may loose their rights to certain franchises that people are hoping end up in the hands of someone else.
