Great movie, awesome sequel to the first. Great CGI and great emotional content with the apes.

Discuss.

I thought it was a bit boring. It didn't really feel like it was becoming a "planet" of the apes, more like a "we'll be content sharing the plant with humans as long as they keep to themselves". I do agree that the CGI was pretty good, but other than that the movie was just alright.

Well I mean aside from that. None of the apes were really hostile towards the humans except for the main bad guy, and most of his followers only went to war out of fear. Most of the apes didn't even seem to know that humans existed at the beginning.

It had been 12 years since they had last saw a human and the point was to see if they could co-exist. The reason why they weren't hostile towards them was because of the upbringing Caesar had with humans and the fact that he wanted no troubles for the future of his family while Koba had known nothing but distrust and hate towards humans and wanted them dead from the beginning. It was a clear struggle between that was demonstrated throughout the whole movie.

SPOILERS! **********************

the dawn of the planet of the apes.... so it begins right?

the end hinted at what was next, Caesar and the others remain in the city knowing that the military was coming, because "war had already begun" (started by apes)
running from the city was futile because humans wouldn't forgive, so he chose to stand and fight. We the viewer are to assume that the apes win the coming war (movies title)
