Episode 1 did not disappoint at all.

Why did the big vampire dude smash the guys head after he sucked him dry? Is there a difference between infecting and feeding? I mean, he emphatically Gallagher'd that dudes head, which is what the old man said to do to the infected.

The parasite needs a brain otherwise the host cannot function and they infect through feeding. I don't think it wanted another one running around or he didn't want that one running around. The exact motives may be revealed later or it's just as I said and it was cleaning up after itself.

Had it recorded, excited as I read the series a few years back.

I was about to post a thread of this. I'm glad someone else did.

This actually looks pretty cool, I think I might read the book first though.
