So whos seen it?
My daughter (Mature 3 year old) watched sleeping beauty for the first time at the weekend, she is obsessed with Disney princesses and has noticed the advert on TV.
I know its a PG (parental guidance in UK) film but the trailers a lil dark, are the scary bits few and far between? or should I wait til shes a bit older before I let her watch it?

the big turn for maleficent from gong from a fairy thing to her black dressed self is a rape allegory.
she won't know whats up but it is not exactly something i would show a disney princess obsessed child.

No need to shield your child from a silly Disney movie. If she wants to watch it, go ahead and take her to see it.

They played the trailer for the movie in my local cinema and full fucking blasted volume, nearly cracked my eardrums with the song "I know you are..." or however it goes, and I love my surrounds big and LOUD. Seemed a little scary
but idk, 3 years old sounds a bit too young for cinemas? I don't think I started attending them before 1998, when I was 5.
My little sister who is now 6 used to watch all kinds of horror movies / action movies / gory movies when she was 1-3 because she couldn't really comprehend what was going on. Obviously my dad starting telling her to get out / go to bed during adult movies the last couple of years as she got older.

Didn't watch it, but from what I've seen in the trailer, it seems that the 1959 Sleeping Beauty is scarier.

Not really scary, but violent in some scenes. I wouldn't take my 3 year old to see it, hypothetically.

I'm thinking he meant the violence could scare them.
