Superman wouldn't be able to save the city since he would get to weak as he got close. Superman and everyone in the city dies. Rest of the world launches nukes because counter measures. Everyone including batman dies.

Superman's alien technology clones him. Superman lives again. Goes to a different planet with intelligent life and chills.
