Went and saw it yesterday. I really enjoyed I. The effects and CGI were really good and I enjoyed the addition of leagolas. Was overall very pleased. Also the lady elf was really hot!

Anyone else seen the newest instalment of the hobbit?

Was better than #1 for sure. I made the mistake of seeing it in HFR(accidentally), didn't know this one was in HFR...

I thought that it was suppose to be converted back to 24 frame per second? I like the extra storylines that peter Jackson has brought into the hobbit tale.

Oh I wasn't aware of that. So I'm guessing the simarillion? I think that's the only book I never read. I believe it is the back story to middle earth? Or are there other pieces Tolkien wrote as well?

I saw it last night. Loved it. Smaug was really well done imo and yes I agree with you about Tauriel.

So many parts that I absolutely loved! The exchange and chase between Bilbo and smaug is obviously one of the best. River rafting battle was awesome. Also I like how they brought saruman into the story a bit more than the book.
