Action movies imo are kinda hard to rate. But a I'll give it a shot. Probably going to forget tons of movies etc.

Also just naming movies in no particular order;

Action:
Taken (the first)
The first 1-2(3?) Die hard movies
The Batman movies (With Bale), throwing em in here, but I figure they also counts as sci-fi since I've never seen Batman irl, yet.
The Ocean movies, hard to rank them, not sure if they even counts as action, might be thriller of some kind. #Hybrid.

The book of eli/the road
The Da vinci code

Sci-fi:
Independence day
Armageddon
Word War Z

Missing plenty of good movies, I'm sure of that and all the movies I've mentioned aren't really the best in the genre, but it's a pretty decent amount of good movies.
