Why does it have to be so long for the next season! the last episode was great cant wait to see what lexis is capable of after pulling the bugs from that chick!!!

To be honest, I didn't think that the S3 end cliffhanger was as tantalizing as the first 2 season endings (Tom going into ship and then the Volm showing up). I'm actually kind of dreading what reasoning the show will give as to why we have a hybrid baby. I have a feeling it will be a flimsy explanation like conveniently random evolution. The most satisfying story I have been able to come up with is that the red-eyed rebel skitter may have intentionally done something to Tom while he was in the ship to cause his sperm to give rise to this biological hybrid that could be used as an anti-Espheni weapon. Do you have any theories about how she got to be this way?

Also, I was trying to estimate Alexis' lifespan. Wiki says that she has grown to the equivalent of a six year old in just two months. The time gap between S2E10 to S3E1 was 7 months, so let's apply that same gap from S3 to S4 and assume that her growth rate is linear. At this pace, she should be 27 in S4E1, hit 33 by the end of the season and then open S5 at age 54. This makes me think she will probably die in S4 one way or another.

i like the idea of that , it would be a great comeback and twist for the rebel skitters to come back into the plot and to be protected by tom from the volm because i garentee the volm will want to destroy the rebel skitters regardless then tom will possibly rebel against the volm to protect them and in that time alexis will age and it could be a possibility that the scientist could come up with some sort of neurological theory and present a solution with or without the rebel skitters help! On the contrary the massive gap between seasons could only mean that they dont plan on making alot of seasons and the next season could be the last!

You cannot assume anything of the sort. Season 1 finale to season 2 was only 3 months, why not say "oh uhm erm yeah its growing exponentially so season 3 to season 4 will be a year and a third". (aka 16 months)

Time periods between seasons for shows is whatever the fuck the writers decide; Some shows that have been going for 6+ seasons have differences from literally picking off exactly where it left off, to having months between. What happened is zero indicator of what will happen.

I can if I want to. In fact, I just did. They are my internet speculations so they can be what I want them to be. Everyone else can feel free to post their own thoughts if they want, I would love to read them. I was just picking a few simple numbers to produce a vague timeline. Obviously the truth could be something different, that's why I made sure to point out that my thoughts were merely assumptions.
