what do you guys think are some of the most overrated movies of all time?


after all the buzz around kick ass 2, I will be the first person to step up and say that the first kick ass was mediocre at best

also think fight club is overrated (don't get me wrong - I love the movie and think it was extremely well done, but the cult following and nut hugging it has is exhausting to think about)
boondock saints is also pretty overrated imo, decent film with some cool scenes but nothing more
donnie darko also seems to be the favorite film of everybody who likes to pretend they're deep thinkers or anybody under the age of 16 who thinks he/she is a misunderstood youth

K, so these are you opinions of what is overrated? Even though, you clearly failed at being one of the only ones that thought Kick Ass 1 was overrated. Most of here enjoyed it, according to the other thread.

Why would you do this to yourself? You enjoy public humiliation?

cant remember the name of it, but it was about two mma brothers. i thought it was very boring and anticlimatic, but the reviews on imdb were really good

Everyone has a different opinion on what is "overrated". There is literally ZERO point in this.

Why are you mad? Just get out of the thread and ignore it if you have a problem with it. And yes I am aware that most of the people here enjoyed Kick Ass, which supports my view of it being extremely overrated. I thought the story was weak and the acting was terrible.

The point of "these threads" are to engage in analytical conversation about cinema and to discuss why we think they are overrated, or really do deserve all of the praise that they get, etc...



I agree. It was an alright movie, but definitely gets more hype than is deserved. Very predictable hollywood ending and they tried too hard to force the drama. And it doesn't help that the portrayal of the sport of MMA was extremely inaccurate and cringe-worthy, but that is probably just because I am such a huge fan and have been actively following the sport for almost 10 years. To the public audience it was probably okay.
