dont know where else to ask.. has anyone else gotten rid of their cable?

I am in the process of starting to, got a roku 3, i have a ton of tv shows and movies on my hdd and access to hbogo, i will be sub to netflix snd hulu within the next month and poss amazon prime

anyone tried hd antennas or aereo app?

my bill right now with cable and internet is 146, getting rid of cable will bring it down to about 65 or so

so if i sub to all these things and get rid of cable, i could get my bill down to 65 + 8 + 8 +8 +8(or12)= 97 (101) which will save me $612 a year if i get an hd atenna instead of aereo an extra 8 a month saved

anyone done any of these things?

the only reason I still have cable in my house is so I can watch all of the MMA cards, otherwise I wouldn't have it. haven't watched anything else on it in the last 2-3 years.

Watch your shows on the internet illegally like everyone else.

my gf has a hard time with that.. she claims she needs the news in the morning (live tv) and she likes to watch tv going to bed

i need live tv also for football



they have apps for that kind of stuff

Pretty sure you can watch live news and football online :S . I know you can stream tv shows as they air illegally... Local news may be a problem.

I certainly wouldn't pay 80$ a month just for news and football...

i know, its insane

i do watch alot of tv, but i can get almost anything besides live tv

but also that aereo app i was talking about, is like having an hd attena, just its an app instead, u get the main few local stations, problem is.. if internet goes out, so does cable, but aereo also has a cloud dvr 20 hours which is awesome as hell

haven't had cable since 2010. i just pay 60 bucks for internet with like 150gigs per month. and 25$ cell bill

only reason to have regular TV service is for sports

no i started enjoying sports more when i started streaming from hd sites you can google they also have chat rooms so you can talk shit to the fans of the opposing team its pretty fun closest thing to being at a bar other than psychically being at a bar.
