I've noticed some random is now playing Sherlock Holmes in the new TV show "Sherlock" just after Jeremy Brett, I'd call that suicide.

It reminds me of the remake of Shining where Steven Weber had the balls to play the role Nicholson had before him when Gary Sinise had himself declined the offer because he " wasn't gonna go after Nicholson ".

Do you guys have any other exemples?

it reminds me of the remake of Austin Powers when Mike Myers took over the role of the villain character (Fat Bastard) because Mike Myers didn't want to go after Mike Myers playing Dr. Evil anymore.
