Haven't seen survivor man and naked and afraid seems social pornish, maybe a bit dumned down populistic portrayal of the stuff, but if you don't think you can call it ontopic, similar to ops "any other shows like his where a person survives in the wild or where with limited supplies for a week?" question, then you have some issues.
the first episode they didn't try to make clothes, shoes etc. to be honest the people in the first episode would of died if it wasn't for the time limitation because they were terrible at it.
in the first episode they made some very very cosmetic clothes with leaves that served no real function other than to cover up their private areas. insulation and protection are the main qualities you want in clothes...not just to cover up your genitals/boobs.
i still wouldn't call what they do "surviving" it's more like running out the clock just before they would of actually died. the first episode was little more than an example of how to prolong your death....or at time how to make it shorter and far more painful. going after than venomous snake for a meal without calling the girl over to help was just plain foolish. the method he used to kill it was also foolish. he put himself within striking distance of the snake instead of just going and getting a 10lb rock and throwing it on top of it from a distance.
if you enjoy survivorman then naked and afraid isn't something you would enjoy watching most likely because you'll see far more mistakes and stupidity than you do real survival knowledge.
