They are out fishing with rods for yellow finned tuna's some fish is worth up to 10.000$ maybe even more.

In most european countries it's the other way around; the comma separates whole numbers from decimals and the period separates thousands, so I guess that's why he got it wrong.

I'm pretty much used to doing it your way when I write in english, but sometimes I slip and use commas for decimals like I would in spanish :D
