I didn't think it was "bad". I didn't think it was as good as it was implied to be. There was no epic revelation at the end. Just a bunch of stories that were slightly intertwined. They pretty much explained it right from the beginning, which just left a bunch of random scenes flashing before your eyes for 3 hours. Alot of which, I did think were pretty poor.

I prefer Waterworld.

I just don't think enough of the stories "mattered". There was nothing epic about most of them. And, the whole premise of the movie (the Cloud Atlas no. 9) wasn't emphasized enough to leave a lasting impression on me.
