I have to say I'm disappointed with the way Hank found out who Walt was. Hank's discovery moment was the huge moment that the series had been building towards.
The "Legend of Heisenberg" should have been built to mythic proportions before Hank knew for sure it was Walt. They currently only know Heisenberg as a great chemist. They don't know all the killing/destruction he's been behind, such as his involvement in the deaths of Gus, Tuco and the orchestrated prison killings.
I was expecting an epic scene where they had a whole SWAT team assaulting a building, expecting the place to be rigged with explosives. Then they get to the lab, find someone nonchalantly whistling while they cook, pull off the gas mask and see Walt.
Instead what we get is a mostly random event. It had a symbolic connection with the Walt Whitman stuff, but there was no real plot significance of Hank or the book being in that bathroom.
He will realize all these things, along with many others once he puts everything together in his head, simply overwhelmed at the moment. Think of all the instances, the fugue state, the Marie hospitalized phone call, Poker money, off doing "work" while the whole Gus stuff goes down, and more and more
