I don't like animation, it has nothing to do with being open-minded. Might be a great film, with great story, but I don't like animation in the slightest so it will distract me.

It actually has something to do with open-mindedness. It's like saying "I dont like black/white movies" or "I dont like european movies".
But thats ok as long as you dont say that theyre all crap or something like that.
