Surprised there's no thread for this.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1707386/I thoroughly enjoy musicals. Been to many live performances in my life, but never have I heard of Les Miserables until my girlfriend(Who is a thespian(musical theatre/stage actress) told me about it.
I went to see this movie the other night. It ranks in a whopping 2:38 minutes. It's very long but if you enjoy musical type movies then you will DEFINITELY enjoy this one.
The cast is amazing. To name a few..
Hugh Jackman
Amanda Seyfreid
Anne Hathaway
Russel Crowe
Helena Bonahm Carter
Sacha Baron Cohen
etc.
It's very well casted. Normally musical movies are recorded, then played back when the acting takes place so you have to make acting decisions before you even meet the actors. This movie is done with live singing and has a very different feel to it than other movies of it's kind.
Plot summary:
In 19th-century France, Jean Valjean, who for decades has been hunted by the ruthless policeman Javert after he breaks parole, agrees to care for factory worker Fantine's daughter, Cosette. The fateful decision changes their lives forever.
A majority of the movie is singing, I must warn, there is dialogue as well but it accounts for maybe 5-7% of the actual movie. The singing isn't completely annoying, it's mostly talking-style singing.
Anyways, Thoughts on anyone who's seen it? Let me know what you thought.
