I haven’t seen the Netflix version yet, but I’ve heard the Chinese one is better, so I thought I’d watch it first. The plot is incredible, it really got my imagination going about extraterrestrials, quantum physics, space, universe, etc...
But I had some serious issues with the series...
Why did they waste what felt like half the season on Ye Wenjie's past? It was pretty clear from the start that she responded to the ETs' message. Also, why did she hate humanity so much? She seemed to have a decent life at Red Coast, doing a job she loved, married, and pregnant.
Why dedicate an entire episode to Evans, only for him to get cut in half in the next one without even saying a word lmao
The countdown was a letdown...
If these extraterrestrials were so advanced, why hadn’t they scouted earth yet? It didn’t make sense.... I know they mentioned something about radio signals from earth being blocked by the three suns, but surely any advanced civilization would’ve scouted the nearby solar system long ago with advanced telescopes or something like that
Netflix version seems to only have 8Eps so im diffidently gonna give that a watch next
