Great episode but that entire Lancel segment was truly retarded.

Somehow Cersei's camp anticipated that:

1) Lancel would recognize the trap, but follow the kid anyway

2) He would come alone, so the kid wouldn't have any trouble stabbing him

3) He would be stabbed once and hurt just enough so he can crawl to the candles but be 1 second too late

Also note that one stab crippled him but multiple stabs did not stop Arya from doing parkour.

Cersei's scene with the septa was awesome.

I don't think that was part of the plan. The candles were gonna blow up anyway. If anything that scene showed the plan almost fell apart when Lancel found it, imo.

The series has clearly shit all over incest. To make Danny and Jon marry would be so hypocritical.

Not for Targaryans. Pretty sure Rhaegar was supposed to marry Danaerys.

To me it looked more like they wanted Lancel to go down there and watch the destruction about to happen right in front of his eyes but make it so he can't do anything about it.

Cersei surely planned for them coming after her after she didn't show up.

I'm pretty sure they just wanted to make sure he was close enough to die

Yeah and that didn't go wrong at all, I mean it's not like he died or any...oh wait.

The lannisters are the biggest examples of incest in the series and everything has gone perfectly for them right?

By lanisters you mean Cersei... you can't compare targaryans with lannisters

Cersei and Jamie are incestuous and their entire family is almost dead.
The Targaryans were incestuous and they are almost all dead as well.

The Starks aren't incestuous and they have done pretty good so far considering.

The series has a pretty clear message about incest, so to go turn 180 and make the 'power couple' so to speak and incestuous one would be.... ill thought out.

Plenty of original Targ kings married within their family and ruled peacefully. It would also make a nice parallel with Aegon & Rhaenys/Visenya. Other than that it'd also coincide with a loss of power for the Faith. With the Sept of Baelor destroyed, it leaves room for incestual pairing (Baelor imprisoned his sisters to get rid of his bodily desires).

And for the incest part, only Joffrey was a bad kid. Tommen & Myrcella were both sweet children who did not deserve their fates. And during the incestual times, Robert's reign was in relative peace.

This episode confirmed and destroyed a lot of fan theory, and it leaves room for more. Obviously the prophecy from Maggy the Frog is coming true, with all of Cersei's children now dead. Personally I believe Jaime will slay the Mad Queen with Widow's Wail and subsequently will become Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. King's Landing (hehehe, nice pun GRRM) will be in ruins when Dany finds it, Cersei having lit the entire city alight with Wildfire. Her vision from the House of the Undying will have come true.

I was a bit disappointed to see Jon without Ghost, especially because of the whole "White Wolf" chanting.

Great musical direction btw, Ramin Djawadi might earn himself an Emmy with this.
