The series has clearly shit all over incest. To make Danny and Jon marry would be so hypocritical.
Plenty of original Targ kings married within their family and ruled peacefully. It would also make a nice parallel with Aegon & Rhaenys/Visenya. Other than that it'd also coincide with a loss of power for the Faith. With the Sept of Baelor destroyed, it leaves room for incestual pairing (Baelor imprisoned his sisters to get rid of his bodily desires).
And for the incest part, only Joffrey was a bad kid. Tommen & Myrcella were both sweet children who did not deserve their fates. And during the incestual times, Robert's reign was in relative peace.
This episode confirmed and destroyed a lot of fan theory, and it leaves room for more. Obviously the prophecy from Maggy the Frog is coming true, with all of Cersei's children now dead. Personally I believe Jaime will slay the Mad Queen with Widow's Wail and subsequently will become Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. King's Landing (hehehe, nice pun GRRM) will be in ruins when Dany finds it, Cersei having lit the entire city alight with Wildfire. Her vision from the House of the Undying will have come true.
I was a bit disappointed to see Jon without Ghost, especially because of the whole "White Wolf" chanting.
Great musical direction btw, Ramin Djawadi might earn himself an Emmy with this.
