As for the prisoner, guessing it would be too obvious who it was if he talked so using that as a crutch to keep the mystery up.
Jay doesn't really have any of his powers, so the 'meds' was the Velocity which temporarily granted him them for a short period.
oh, i assumed the prisoner can't talk. i was wondering why the girl didn't ask him yes/no questions. "tap once if you understand me. tap once if you're trying to help." and communicate from there. looks like she didn't ask him a single question, and barry didn't either. but clearly he can hear them through the glass. it seemed far more obvious than "lets see if we can figure out a pattern to his taps". i wondered if they just copied the scene from the comics or if it's poor writing.
i know jay doesn't have powers, but i was wondering why he's the only one who can fight. did the police and everyone with a gun get killed? police can't easily fight some metas (the poisonous gas guy, for example), but this guy didnt look like much. all he could do was create mini-quakes. he'd probably fall from tear gas or a taser or whatever. im guessing the writers are just trying to create drama?
