The guys had no reason to kill them (Then) because they wouldn't have found the farm. Rick shot them under the assumption they would harm their group if allowed to go free.

Series is turning into a gaddamn drama.
I want more backstory.. EG. Myrl and Earl's backstory. Their reaction to the world going to shit.
