HOW THE FUCK IS THE MOTHER STILL ALIVE?

So assuming the mother was in the locked coffin, Klaus lied to all his family members about killing the mother? When all this time, he was carrying her around. But she is a witch, how does the dagger preserve her body?

I'm still confused about the mother also. I thought she was a witch and not a vampire. I thought witches couldn't become vampires either. So I'm not sure how she's still alive. I'm sure it will explain it all in the next few episodes though. I love how all the remaining originals are all alive and on screen now. Should make the show a little better

how do you know the mother was dagger'd? all we know is that she was locked in a coffin and kept in that coffin by a binding spell cast by 2 witches. I don't think she is a vampire. I think she is just the most powerful witch in existence. we also know from previous episodes that witches can keep themselves from aging. so in all likelihood, she was locked in that coffin but kept herself alive and didn't age by using her powers.

I don't see how she kept herself alive when Klaus supposedly killed her. I thought witches died like anyone else.

that's the part we don't know about. we will find that out in the next episodes for sure.

maybe when she cast the spell that turned her family into vampires she also included a caveat that her own family could not kill her. or that supernaturals in general could not kill her.

probably a similar to thing like the gilbert family ring that protects you from supernatural death (a witch had to create that right? why not cast a spell that protects yourself without needing a ring?)

it was also obvious that Klaus was afraid about what was in that coffin, so he had to have known that she was alive. either that or he just needed the coffin because of a feeling of attachment to his mother.
