Oh well, it's not as if there was any lack of minor characters to follow. Still, I'm sad for his family

Any ideas on the next season? My understanding is we're approaching a point where there were two books written to cover the next set of events.

we're actually already dipped a fair amount into that portion of the story. There are still a few final points to be cleaned up from Book 3 (biggest one that comes to mind is choosing the replacement for Jeor Mormont).

But, if I remember correctly, everything that happened with Sansa at the Vale, Brienne and Podrick setting out together as well as Bran arriving at his cave in the North were all taken from Books 4 and 5 (those are the 2 books that happen simultaneously just cover different characters).
