Saw it today. I ain't gonna bash it, but I will say that it was nothing special.
I'm glad that it didn't follow the superhero formula. It was an actual movie, kinda like how Joker was its own type of story.
It dodged as many tropes as it walked into, so I give it credit for being good half the time.
Plenty of the action bits had my eyes rolling (one second Batman acts like he's broken every bone in his body, the next second he's back to Super Saiyan mode)
If there is going to be a sequel, I want to see some movement in Battinson's character. *Batman Begins* did a good job of actually showing Bruce go through a process of deciding to fight crime. Maybe in the 2nd movie, he can pick a new word besides 'vengeance' to call himself. Maybe retribution or reckoning. Then at the end, when he's completed the arc, he can change it to justice.
At the end of the day, I am glad that DC is making something other than Justice League 5. Joker and The Batman both try to branch out.
ya it's worth watching at least once. Still waiting for an arkham games batman portrayal though. Batman knows all these martial arts but all we get is joke fights in live action... Imagine scott adkins batman fighting..
People go crazy over the batman warehouse scene in bvs but I think it's a joke. Batman moved so slow there and again didn't portray any martial arts.
This low budget movie has better fight choreography than any of the batman movies:
