so people who don't read the comics can't have an opinion about the movie
are they allowed to watch the movie at least?

No, nobody has to read he comics, but to say that there are too many characters is ridiculous. All of these marvel movies are heading towards thanos and each movie is playing a part in that timeline whether it's plot points or introducing characters.

I mean....this enormous plot story has been developing in the theaters since 2008....I think by now people should be able to connect the dots.

You have very poor reading comprehension.

The topic was plot....and like I said there can be many differences between the comic and movie, but the basic plot was the same....

The plot of BOTH THE MOVIE AND THE COMIC is the avengers are split when they are asked to operate under new regulations.

That is the basic plot.

I already mentioned the difference of the villia but that sill doesn't change the basic plot.

That is not the basic plot of the comics at all.

E: that's not even the basic plot if the movie either, if you think about it.

Comic:

The plot of the series follows a framework storyline in which the U.S. government passes a Superhero Registration Act ostensibly designed to have superpowered individuals act under official regulation, somewhat akin to law enforcement. However, superheroes opposed to the act, led by Captain America, find themselves in conflict with those supporting the act, led by Iron Man, with Spider-Man caught in the middle; the X-Men take a neutral stance. The superheroes in support of the law, such as Iron Man, Dr. Reed Richards, and Ms. Marvel, increasingly become authoritarian. In the aftermath of the war, Captain America surrenders and is imprisoned. The conflict between freedom and security is an underlying theme in the storyline, with real-life events and discussions, such as the U.S. government's increased surveillance of its citizens, serving as a backdrop for the events in Civil War.[2][3] A sequel, Civil War II, is set to debut in June 2016.

Movie:

In Captain America: Civil War, disagreement over international oversight of the Avengers fractures them into opposing factions – one led by Steve Rogers and the other by Tony Stark.

.......pretty goddamn similar to me. Like I said, yes there are major differences within the comic vs movie, but the plot is relatively the same.

Good job using wikipedia. That is not the plot of the movie, it is the plot of the trailers written to give people a basic idea of what is happening without spoiling the actual plot of the movie.

The plot of the movie can be best described by an actual conversation that took place in the movie by Capt and Tony.

Capt: he's my friend
Tony: so was I

The movie us not about the oversight in any way, that is a plot device used to start the story off, not the actual plot. The plot is actually about the winter soldier, and captain america trying to save him despite being against his own team(previously set up by said plot device).

If weren't for the actual plot of the movie our heroes would have been able to sit down and discuss the oversight committee rationally.

The comic plot is so all over the fucking place it isn't even worth trying to explain to you.

A basic plot of a movie should be able to be said in one-two sentences. It's not supposed to give away the movie....the plot line will outline specifics sequences.

The wikipedia information is the same as every other source. I'll pull it from IMDb if you want.

You honestly need to go back to school.

The plot I said was 1-2 sentences? Also where the fuck do you get your information? Why is that the benchmark?

A quote from Scorsese about movie plot

Quote
The plot is what happens. The story in a movie, on the other hand, is why it happens, and how.

What happens in the movie? Capt tries to save/defend his friend (Bucky) from Tony/other threats.

Why? What's the story? Well that includes the oversight act, Tony's parents deaths and other situations that occurred.

The entire time I've been arguing with you, I've been using the terminology "basic plot." Let that sink in.

What about anything I said isn't basic to you? I mean I know the most intelligent thing you have ever done is self-proclaim yourself a stupid kid, but honestly.

The oversight thing is literally a 10 minute part of the movie that is a device used to kick-start the actual plot.

Tony: please agree to oversight
Capt: no
Tony: pretty please
Capt: well oka.... Wait a minute no
Tony: then retire
Capt: well I would but the actual plot of the movie is about to start, sorry bro.

A basic plot line is exactly what it's stated as......like a novel pitch.

You guys aren't on the same page as me, so it's not worth arguing about anymore.
