And it's no surprise the new characters are very underwhelming.

What?

Did we watch the same movie...

How were they very underwhelming?

You are just hating on it because they didn't use characters that already existed imo. Rey is looking like an excellent hero of the new trilogy.

Finn was running away the entire time and was overall a pussy. Ren was a whiny bitch, and Rey is okay. Poe is irrelevant .

I just felt no connection to the new characters. There was no character that I was like "wow he's cool I want to be like him" feeling I got from Luke , or Han or qui gon or darth maul

Darth Maul literally didn't even say a single word lol.

Poe was solid in the scenes he was in and I'm sure in the next movie we will see a lot more of him.

Rey was great in the hero role. Not to mention that she is sexy as fuck.

Finn started the movie as a coward trying to escape the fight and then faced his demons when Rey was captured. He even dueled Kylo to protect Rey.

Kylo was an awesome character. He was confused and troubled young adult who wasn't sure what he wanted for himself. Killing Han sealed his fate as a pupil of the dark side. They did a good job showing his uncontrollable anger which is mentioned to be a huge part of the dark side in previous films.

I'm not on the same boat as you but that's okay everyone has their own opinions

Darth maul doesn't need to say anything . He had an aura about him that just made him so damn cool.

Yeah, too bad he just disappears a minute later instead of shooting down Kylo Ren's ship.

Eh, I think plot holes and deus ex machinas are just a pet peeve of mine, so I enjoyed this movie less than most people.

Like when they need to take the Falcon in past the shield and they are flying through hyperspace at a trillion miles an hour, and they need the precision of something like a nanosecond to get past the shields but not hit the planet's surface. So they get that nanosecond precision by Han yelling "Now!" and Chewie hitting a button. I facepalmed so hard. Good thing it wasn't in 3D, I would've broken the glasses.

I still enjoyed the movie, don't get me wrong. It wasn't terrible, just not spectacular. If you love the series it's easier to suspend your disbelief and not notice the bad writing.

I am glad I am not a pessimist. Watching movies would suck.
