I believe people think it's terrible because it's really impossible to understand.

But I didn't think it was too bad, it had hot girls, action, and lobotomies =)

Anyway, going to actually comment on this and say when I watched the film I just did it for the special effects/battle scenes which weren't completely awful, but the film they were in was. So I didn't really pay attention to anything that was happening outside of the dancing trances. Seeing that vid clears it up a little and sure the film makes a few interesting implications, but it just wasn't well-rounded enough. If this guy's video review of the movie is correct and that was the intention of the movie, then I've got to say it was better than I previously thought, but it totally had way more potential with a plot like that.

Oh well, can't win 'em all.
