I guess I can't call him much of an antagonist. Daniel Day Lewis' character was certainly more of a villain. But, Daniel played the main character that you're supposed to hate to love, and Paul Dano played this thing that you're supposed to love to hate.

Does Paul Dano ever not play a squealer? Pretty good actor imho, but squeeeler.

Yeah I hated this character. The whole movie, I kind of wished someone would just bludgeon him to death with a bowling pin, or something.



Paul Dano also played a despicable character (definitely a villain) in 12 Years a Slave, but as much as I hated him, I hated this woman more.



Eh... I guess I should throw in this douche bag. We love him because he's a mechanical genius. However, the entire weak ass, self righteous premise for everything he puts people through in the movies is so unlikable. "I tried to kill myself and failed. Now I appreciate life more. So, I'm going to make other people appreciate life more by... torturing them." Douche bag.

In an interview, he did say that acting lost its value for him when it became more of a job and less recreational, which is understandable. We all want to do something we enjoy and make it a living.

Still, it's got to suck being actually hated by so many people that don't even know you. Can't remember who, but some producer or someone involved with the show said to him, "Congratulations. You're now the most hated person on television." You've got to be some kind of stupid to hate a person based on a character they play. I guess people love to invest so much of their emotions into a fictional world created by someone else so much, that they forget about reality.

Except Carl isn't a villain or antagonist

Started watching The Office again...




Serves as an antagonist to Jim when Jim goes to Stanford. Becomes Dwight's rival in Scranton. Treats Erin like shit...I fucking hate this character and thought he ruined the show.

Nah, getting rid of Michael killed the show. Andy was just annoying.

It should have ended when he left, yah. But then they replaced him with Andy.
