It's one of the best "crime" type shows that have been out in a long time.

I'm not so thrilled about the more recent eps. it feels like they're ruining it by trying to make it less predictable / more dramatic.

great example. considering how powerful/intelligent red is, i can't understand how that played out. suppose he wasn't loyal. then he either should have killed Red immediately or else waited till after the kidnapping, then kill Red before Red finds out and kills him.

or instead, suppose he is loyal but he had a moment of weakness for his family. after Red survived, he should confess and use his good will to save his family and pretend his death was accidental, or even commit suicide after the confession. instead he waited until Red found out from a third party, which kills any good will he saved up.

i dont like the story of him trying to hide it from Red, even though he knows Red will likely find out.

i didnt like the whole story line. the writers deliberately waited to reveal white girl (can't remember her name) as a hostage until the others were killed for dramatic effect to show Red's strong feelings towards her. imo they should have introduced her sooner so that red could pretend to care about the black/asian and hide his feelings about the girl, then have a private conversation between red and the asian where she tells him he only saved them to save the white girl, he nods as confirmation, and then asian feels betrayed and leave his employ.

The goal wasn't to kill Red. Did you not realize that?
It was to find out his intentions and if he had divulgded certain information about something major, that we have yet to see/learn.

i think you misunderstood. i'm not talking about the guys on top who threatened dude's family. i'm talking about the friend/assistant/betrayer who was suffocated at the end. sorry, dont remember his name and i can't find him on imdb's cast for that episode.

i'm saying that man has two options. if he is not loyal, then he'd want to survive at all costs which means he'd kill red to save himself. but as far as i can tell, he was loyal but had a moment of weakness when his family was threatened. if that was the case, he should have confessed to red immediately after red was released instead of keeping it a secret. if your family was threatened to betray someone you loved/trusted/etc, wouldn't you confess after you made sure your family was safe?

/edit: imdb lists his name as Grey, but i thought they called him something else. skinny pete from breaking bad.

Imo. it's because Grey, knows the ppl at the top. As does Red.
And Grey believed, at that point of time, those ppl had more power. So he didn't confess to Red, to assure the safety of his family, knowing full well that his family would survive but he wouldn't. It was a sacrifice he made.
He knew Red would find out eventually, but wanted to spend more time with family maybe, so he didn't confess.
Imagine, he had confessed and Red helped him and they failed, his family died... he wouldn't be able to live with himself. Wich then might lead to, him also dying.

im not referring to before the kidnapping, i'm referring to after. by then his family was safe. Red probably would have let him have some more time with his family, a few hours or days.

Personally i'd rather have my friend tell me about it right after the fact, rather than having to figure it out on my own and all the while he's still pretending he was innocent. but maybe that's just me.

"Red would probably have let him" you do remember what that betrayal cost him, right?

he already waited some time before he killed him. he had time to go back to the computer dude and prepare a file to give him, then go somewhere to spread the ashes at a minimum. so do i think he could have waited a few more hours if the guy was up front? yes i do.

I think you're right. No way he'd let him live.

---

Is the girl seducing the husband, new to the show? Or has she been around before? I'm confused.
Always knew that CIA gal was the mole. I thought it could've been someone else, but once she accused with some proof, that techy, I was like: "ha, she must be the true mole".

Also, did anyone get the impression that the blonde haired FBI dude, was one of the alchemists clients? Take the shot he yelled out, after guy said he'd give out names. Also, the FBI dude, didn't know who his ex gf was at 1st, when she came to visit him at the hospital...

I wonder if red will kill her. I feel like if it was that simple they would have just showed it in the last episode
