My theory... she became a tool for Tywin by him manipulating her.

1. She did love Tyrion, but was told by Tywin that he would save his life if she testified.
2. Tywins' hands were tied when Tyrion lost his battle because of that imbecile Prince.

So... for Shae to continue on, she kept on doing what she was use to, but then once tyrion found her in the bed
saying the exact same words he would here from her each night, she knew she would die, and she tried to protect
herself.

Mind you, at the end of the day, it could be anything... maybe it was a massive setup by Tywin where Tyrion met Shae, maybe
Tywin was that clever that he also paid Tyrions mercenary to kill off Shaes lord and give her to Tyrion so that he could keep an
eye on Tyrion all that time.
