Because they spent days searching for Sophia, when Otis could have told them just by them describing what she was wearing and what she looked like. The only reason Shane sacrificed Otis, was because if he didn't Shane would have gotten taken out because he was the one who was slowing them down because of his ankle.

I can understand what Shane did, because he wanted to survive, but the fact of the matter is if Otis would have survived they would not of wasted almost half of Season 2 looking for Sophia and actually progressed on the series.



Honestly, if you go back and watch it, you will see the fact is Otis most likely could have gone twice as fast as he was going. Not like he was just going to leave Shane behind cause Otis was bawse.

Yeah, but Otis died before that topic could even come up. It wasn't something they were concentrating on, a kid was dying. I too think he shot Otis to save himself. And by saving at least one of them, probably convinced him to shoot him even more because it would be saving more than just Shane, but the little dude he loves so much as his own child. It's just bad timing that Otis died before they discussed Sophia, but that's how the cards were played.

I was actually looking forward to seeing Otis more in the show, but damnit Shane!

And Shane should have died a long time ago according to the comic. They are following it to a point I think, but not 100%

Also, I don't think daryl was a character in the comic, I could be wrong about that. I know there was a character that wasn't in the comic that is in the show now.

Yeah Otis was suppose to live much longer than Shane lol
