I was getting the impression that the break was going to last longer than "just" December. I hope the break isn't very big though.

it will feature 13 episodes, this is just the mid season final episode, and then return on February 12, 2012, when the final six episodes of the season

Yeah I think it is longer, i was just giving a rough figure, but it's not a whole years wait like season 1 to 2.
